While the Hawaiian Humane Society recently opened its second location in ʻEwa Beach in May 2023,the impact of our 30+ lifesaving programs and services has always been islandwide here on Oʻahu. Data mapping is a powerful tool used by the Hawaiian Humane Society to visualize and analyze our impact in the community. Through this process, we’ve meticulously charted various aspects of our operations, ranging from animal rescues and adoptions to community outreach programs and educational initiatives. This gives us valuable insights on the geographical distribution of our services, as well as identifying trends and areas with the highest needs so that we can make more informed decisions about allocating resources and tailoring our programs. Data mapping serves as a cornerstone of Hawaiian Humane’s commitment to transparency, accountablity, and continuous improvement as we strive to cultivate a more compassionate pet-friendly community. Mahalo to board member Melissa Pavlicek and Kiyo Noguchi with Hawaiʻi Public Policy Advocates for their generous assistance on this project.
