Shout-Out for Animals

Video enthusiasts in middle and high school will help animals by developing media projects geared toward eliminating animal overpopulation. Cash and a behind-the-scenes campus tour are some of the cool prizes waiting for two winning entries. All winners will also be mentioned in the Hawaiian Humane Society’s quarterly newsletter and website. Deadline is March 11, 2012.

Contest details

1. All winning entries will receive $150 cash, a private “behind-the-scenes” tour of the Hawaiian Humane Society, an invitation to a special shelter event and mention of their winning entry on the Society’s website and in the summer 2012 quarterly newsletter. Students in grades 10 and up will also win a scholarship to the Society’s 2012 summer program.

2. Winners will be notified by Monday, April 2, 2012. Winning categories include one winner from grades 6–8 and one winner from grades 9–12.

3. All entries must be submitted in electronic format and received by Sunday, March 11, 2012.

4. Submit your entry.

5. Video submissions must be submitted as an .mpg4 or .avi file.

6. Videos should not exceed 4 minutes in length or 20 megabytes in size.

7. Entrants must be a current Oahu student in grades 6–12.

8. Entries will not be returned. Contest participation indicates permission for the Hawaiian Humane Society to use entries at its discretion.
